John Denver, a singer-songwriter born in Colorado who was a specialist in folk music, touched the hearts of millions. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in love with Colorado and then settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a hit and have drawn many people to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was the best performer in capturing Colorado. Denver became one of the very initial Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. He is now the symbol of Colorado to people around the world. In my journeys, you meet someone from the opposite end of the planet, someone of New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the first thing that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief involvement with folk bands it was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had written the song along with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver was introduced to an earlier version he knew right away the song could be the next hit single. After a few days of performing before a large crowd on the streets of Washington D.C., the performer recorded his own song.
